Astronomy Camp June 24-30, 2012

Camp of the Rising Son, a ministry of French Camp Academy, partners with Rainwater Observatory once a year to offer an adventure packed week of Astronomy Camp. Campers participate in activities at the observatory in the mornings and evenings.

There they discover the beauty and wonder of the heavens through a variety of different programs and activities such as identification of constellations, learning to use telescopes and planispheres, observing craters on the moon, planets, stars and spectacular prominences on the sun!

They also discover the fascinating secrets of modern and ancient astronomy, build and launch rockets and much more!

Afternoons are filled with fun camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, and much more! This event usually takes place near the beginning of summer.
