Programs & Services

The Rainwater Observatory and Planetarium is open during scheduled events or by appointment. We offer free tours, astronomy slide shows, lectures, and/or planetarium shows for over 150 school and civic groups each year.

Other services and programs we offer:

• If you have need of a program for a civic club we can arrange to come to present a variety of programs (e.g. about the observatory or current events in astronomy).
  
  
• If you wish to have a group view the heavens through a telescope and can't come to us, we have some portable telescopes we can bring to your school, library, or scout camp.
  
  
• Seasonal Backyard Astronomy -- An informal introduction to the sky for individuals and families.
  
  
• Astronomy Workshops -- here and away.
